TEFL courses: common questions

TEFL stands for Teaching English as a Foreign Language. A TEFL certificate is a teaching qualification that shows employers you are trained to teach English to non-native speakers. 4 TEFL courses lead to an internationally recognised TEFL/TESOL certificate, available as a digital download, with an optional printed copy for employers.

TEFL means Teaching English as a Foreign Language, while TESOL means Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. Both terms describe qualifications for teaching English to non-native speakers. Our 200-Hour Level 5 Diploma awards a combined TEFL/TESOL certificate.

Entry requirements can vary between the Level 5 TEFL/TESOL Diploma, the Ofqual-regulated Level 5 TEFL Certificate and the Cambridge CELTA. Please contact our team before enrolling, and we will confirm the requirements for the course you are interested in.
